To every thing there is a season . . .

A few months ago Ellie saw that it was sunny outside and declared it summer. She also found her bike helmet in the garage and insisted on this little ensemble. I stopped short of actually putting on "sunglop" (sunblock) for her.

Fast forward to real summer, and what does Ellie want? Snow. Because we just didn't get enough during our six-month winter. Now she sneaks out to the garage to get her sledding tube and sits on it to play, eat lunch, watch cartoons.

But sometimes I guess you just need the real thing. Or as close as you can come to it with a spilled bucket of flour for snow angels.

Two bonuses with this method: No having to get all "bungled up" (bundled up) in coats and snow pants to play in this snow, and I think any sticky residue leftover from the emptied syrup bottle on the floor are finally gone. Everybody wins.

I think somebody needs to teach Ellie to be more Zen about weather in its season. Or me to be more zen about wardrobe changes and kitchen floor messes.
