Two Down . . .

Ellie turned two months old last Sunday. For those who still keep track in weeks, she is 9.75 weeks now. Not sure when we transition to just counting in months and years instead of weeks. Also for those keeping track, Brady turned 1,620 weeks today, which everyone knows is a major milestone. Not only is he sleeping through the night well now, but he's such a good napper too. We're very proud. (I realize this has pretty much turned into an Ellie blog. I need to think of stuff about us to update once in a while, though let's be honest, who are you all really coming to see here anyway?)

We had quite a difficult time getting a good picture that day. This one does not hold still, so most of the pictures turned out blurry.

This is one of her new toys, Clarence (he's an "Ellie"-phant--get it?). We named him Clarence because he plays "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and it sounds just like the music for the angel on It's A Wonderful Life.

We have a hard time capturing any smiles on camera. The nurses at her doctors appointments always ask if she has a social smile. I think she kind of has more of an anti-social smile. She will smile really big at us and then when we get all excited and smile back or laugh, she clams up. She's very noncommittal with her smiles. (*Note: the nurses also always ask if she stare at things I dangle in her face, which always seems like a weird question to me and I want to remind them that she is a child and not a cat. I usually tell them she just bats the yarn away when I try to give it to her.) Anyway, for the grandmas, here is a clip of a bit of smiling since we can't get a still photo very well.

Some highlights of month two include meeting another grandpa:

and another grandma:

Passing inspection:

(which, of course, she did)

She also got to meet two uncles:

Out to eat with Uncle Andrew.

Bouncing with Uncle Sam.

And then there was Christmas:

Ellie was stoked to get a couple of new toys and books.

Some other fun activities this month:

Cooing and playing to get out of whatever she doesn't want to do (like finish eating).

Helping Daddy workout. I think if I could sleep through exercise, I would probably do it more often.

Then there is her own workout routine. Probably Ellie's favorite game now is to do sit-ups. Probably trying to keep that girlish figure of hers: 11 lb 6 oz now and over 21 inches. She has been doing these sit-ups since the day she was born and lately gets the biggest kick out of it. One day I was just holding her hands, trying to warm them up and she started straining to lift her head and shoulders. So with just a little help she will sit up and loves to just look around, pretty satisfied with herself. This video is after she had been doing it for about 15 minutes, so she was a little worn out, but you get the idea.
